LPS, SPS, and Soft Corals in RASOC Tanks Below are tables of different corals that are commonly kept in captivity and are in RASOC member's reef tanks. Scientific as well as common names are listed and the representative photos are from RASOC member's aquariums. Click the photos for a larger image.
Many soft corals are excellent beginner corals and make good additions to "fish only with live rock" (FOWLR) systems. They can add some color and motion and compliment a fish-centric tank. Generally speaking, SPS and LPS corals require better water quality than most soft corals.
NOTE: This page is under construction. We need help from RASOC members to complete it! Please PM Greg (Homebrew) with suggestions and/or photo links to representative photos FROM YOUR TANK. Multilple submissions from different members for the same coral are welcome. Unless you specify otherwise, credit will be given as to what coral specimens came from which member's aquarium. This is not a comprehensive list of what we have. It is merely a starting point. |
